What this role involves

Type: Full-Time Employee for US Candidates; Independent Contractor for Canadian Applicants

**A note before you read further**

The world is changing fast, and so is this role. We can’t fully tell you what this job looks like in six months. That’s true of every role at Human Agency right now. What we need from you, no matter what: accountability, curiosity, and a builder-first mindset. If that sounds exciting, keep reading. If it sounds intimidating but you’re still interested, let’s talk. If none of that sounds like you, that’s okay. This probably isn’t your spot.

About Human Agency

We’re scaling rapidly and have a growing pipeline of opportunities that demand exceptional talent across disciplines. Our mission is to bring on individuals, from creative producers to technical experts to entrepreneurial leaders, who can help us realize this next chapter of growth.

We are a company of doers. Leaders roll up their sleeves, teams work flat, and everyone contributes to what ships. Titles don’t insulate us from feedback or basics. We invite critique, learn quickly, and keep raising the bar. The best ideas win here, no matter where they come from, because clients trust us to deliver the strongest outcomes every time.

Our clients’ missions, products, and bottom lines are sacred. We immerse ourselves in their world, becoming stewards of their goals and partners in solving big problems. Every product, strategy, or asset we create must be both beautiful and functional; practical, usable, and designed for real-world impact.

Humans are our most valuable resource, and we only grow by hiring people who push us forward. Across strategy, engineering, design, data, and operations, we seek out teammates who raise the bar and make us better. Always hire up, never down.

We partner with organizations of all sizes to explore, design, and implement AI strategies that are secure, scalable, and human-centered. We believe AI should amplify human potential, not replace it, and we build with that conviction in every engagement. From advisory and tooling to implementation and education, we meet clients where they are and help them integrate AI in ways that align with their mission and values. Our goal is to empower teams to work smarter, move faster, and unlock new possibilities through thoughtful, responsible innovation.

And through it all, we lead with purpose, love, and adventure. We do meaningful work with people we create about, and we make the ride an adventure worth taking. Because at Human Agency, who we are and how we work are one and the same.

The Opportunity

Most AI consultants are good at one of two things: writing the strategy or doing the work. We need someone who refuses to separate the two. This role exists because our clients don’t just need a roadmap - they need someone who will build the road, navigate the detours, and still show up to the steering committee with a clear-eyed point of view on where they’re headed next.

You’ll lead AI transformation engagements end-to-end, from diagnosing what’s broken and what’s possible to rolling up your sleeves and building the thing alongside the client’s team. That might mean designing an AI-enabled workflow on Monday, pressure-testing a product decision with a C-suite on Wednesday, and shipping a working prototype by Friday. The client doesn’t see the seams. You own the outcome.

This is the right role if you’ve spent years inside Big Four firms, strategy boutiques, or early-stage companies and found yourself frustrated by the gap between advice and execution. You know what good looks like, you’ve seen what happens when no one stays accountable for making it real, and you’re done handing off decks to someone else’s team. You want the whole thing - the strategy, the build, the proof.

What You’ll Own

  • Client Engagement Leadership — Run AI transformation projects from discovery through delivery, serving as the primary client relationship owner and the person ultimately accountable for outcomes.
  • Strategy and Execution, Both — Develop transformation roadmaps grounded in a client’s actual constraints, then stay in the work long enough to see them implemented, not handed off.
  • 0-to-1 Product Building — Identify high-value AI use cases, prototype solutions, and shepherd them from concept to something clients can actually use, often building hands-on alongside the client’s internal team.
  • Executive-Level Communication — Translate complex AI concepts, technical constraints, and strategic tradeoffs into crisp, confident communication for boards, C-suites, and frontline operators alike.
  • Go-to-Market and Growth Support — Contribute to business development, help scope new engagements, and actively deepen relationships with existing clients as their needs evolve.
  • AI Tool Deployment — Apply AI tools aggressively across your own workflow and your clients’, not as a demo, but as a working standard for how fast and how well this work can get done.
  • Internal Contribution — As a senior member of a flat, growing team, you’ll help shape how Human Agency delivers, what we learn, and who we become.

Who You Are

Experience & Skills

  • 5–8+ years of experience in management consulting, venture-backed startups, product strategy, or a combination, with direct ownership over outcomes, not just deliverables.
  • Demonstrated track record of taking AI from concept to working reality in an organizational context — not just advising on AI strategy, but building or deploying something that worked.
  • Fluency with the AI tooling landscape — foundation models, workflow automation, prompt engineering, and the judgment to know when to build versus buy versus recommend against.
  • Proven ability to lead client relationships at the senior level, including navigating organizational politics, managing ambiguity, and keeping complex engagements on track without a safety net.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you can write a crisp executive brief, run a working session with a skeptical VP, and explain a technical architecture decision to a non-technical founder, often in the same day.
  • Experience in 0-to-1 product building — you’ve shipped something, taken something from nothing to real, and you can speak concretely about how you did it.
  • Bonus: Background in venture studios, high-growth AI or tech companies, or operator roles at the intersection of strategy and product.

Mindset & Traits

  • You’re a builder first. Decks are useful; working things are better. You default toward making something real.
  • You manage yourself completely. No one will check on your progress, remind you of a deadline, or coach you through a hard week. You are the accountability structure.
  • You have no patience for the gap between strategy and execution and have spent your career closing it.
  • You’re curious about AI in a way that shows up in your actual work — you experiment, you break things, you have opinions formed by firsthand experience, not secondhand summaries.
  • You can hold the big picture and the small detail simultaneously, and you know when to zoom in and when to zoom out without being told.
  • You do what the work requires. Not what’s in scope, not what’s comfortable, not what’s in your lane.

Logistics

  • Location: Remote-first; US and Canada eligible.
  • Travel: Occasional travel required for client engagements, company offsites, and key strategic meetings.
  • Application Note: Attach proof of something you’ve built with AI — a product, a workflow, a tool, a result. If you don’t have something to show, this is not the right role.

Equal Opportunity Commitment

Human Agency is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We value diverse perspectives and are committed to building inclusive, high-performing teams where everyone can do their best work.

Engineer Lead Software Engineer at Fundrise

Lead Software Engineer manages an API engineering team, sets technical direction, mentors engineers, and oversees core services for authentication, investing, and account management.

Lead Remote Posted about 9 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Fundrise is a financial technology company on a mission to build a better financial system for the individual. With more than 2 million users and over $3 billion in assets under management, we are the largest direct-to-investor alternative asset platform in the United States, making institutional-quality real estate, private credit, and venture capital investments accessible to anyone. Through the software we build, we are democratizing the private investment industry.

We continue to push into new territory: our Innovation Fund (VCX) recently listed on the NYSE as one of the first public venture capital funds, and our AI subsidiary, RealAI, is bringing institutional-grade real estate intelligence to everyday investors and professionals. Fundrise has been recognized by CNBC’s World’s Top Fintech Companies (2024, 2025) and the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for three consecutive years (2023-2025).

While this is a fully remote role, candidates in the Washington, D.C. metro area are strongly preferred. Proximity to our team and business partners helps support in-person collaboration when needed.

We’re seeking a Lead Software Engineer to manage a team within our API Engineering group. This team owns the services at the core of Fundrise’s investor application: the APIs that drive authentication, investing, account management, and more, and it drives everything underneath our flagship investor web, iOS, and Android applications.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll be measured on the output, quality, and growth of your team. This is a people-management role in which you’ll set technical direction, coach engineers, and help drive outputs through daily hands-on software engineering, making sound architectural calls, and solving the problems no one else can crack. Success in this role looks like a team that quickly and consistently turns product, operational, and compliance requirements into software to drive Fundrise forward.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers through effective weekly one-on-ones, deliberate delegation, and growth feedback
  • Own your team’s delivery, breaking down work, coordinating across teams, and shipping against ambitious but achievable timelines
  • Hold the team to a high quality bar of production code, conducting thorough code reviews and making merge and deployment decisions
  • Drive design and architecture for Fundrise services and contribute to a long-term team roadmap
  • Partner with Product, Design, and other Engineering stakeholders across the organization to quickly implement complex functionality
  • Champion application security as a critical part of the work in a regulated financial services environment
  • Own production monitoring and triage across our services and third-party integrations

Who You Are

Like our Lead Software Engineers, you spend much of your day writing code, and you measure success by what you can ship as a team rather than by your own output alone. Your technical choices are pragmatic and always in service of building what’s best for users. You hold yourself and your team to a high technical standard, and you think about solutions across multiple problem domains: performance, security, maintainability, architecture, and implementation detail. You can quickly evaluate a new technology, pattern, or language and adopt it when it genuinely serves the problem. You understand how to apply AI effectively to your own daily work and to raising your team’s output without treating it as an autopilot.

You form clear opinions and advocate for them, and once a direction is set you commit to it fully. You find real satisfaction in making an established, high-stakes platform a little better every day. You give direct feedback and expect the same in return, and accept responsibility for all outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including deep expertise in Java, Spring / Spring Boot, and Hibernate
  • 3+ years leading and managing engineers: running 1:1s, driving team performance through candid feedback, and owning your team’s delivery, quality, and growth
  • 4+ years building and maintaining production applications on AWS, including services like ECS, CDK, S3, SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB and WAF
  • A deep understanding of transactional database design and operations
  • A track record of improving existing systems in operationally complex environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining secure software, including a solid understanding of common threats and principles for writing secure code
  • Comfortable tackling problems without obvious answers, and can rapidly absorb new languages and frameworks in order to implement the best software solutions
  • Experience managing high performing engineering teams in
  • A passion for working backwards from the outcomes the business needs to the engineering decisions that will achieve them

Benefits at Fundrise

  • Remote-first work environment (must live in the United States)
  • Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance, with Fundrise contributing to both employee and dependent premiums
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for medical expenses, dependent care, and parking
  • 401(k) with 3% contributed by Fundrise, regardless of whether you are actively contributing yourself
  • Fully covered life insurance and short-term disability
  • Significant equity via our employee stock grant program
  • Gympass benefit including mental health resources
  • Flexible PTO
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Paid parental leave

$190,000 - $250,000 a year

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.

HR Director of Talent Acquisition at CODEPATH LIMITED

Director leads CodePath's talent acquisition function end-to-end, managing hiring pipelines across engineering, product, and other functions while maintaining quality standards and competitive time-to-hire metrics.

Lead Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

CodePath is the largest educator of college computer science students in the country. We’ve trained over 40,000 students from 1,000+ universities, and our partners include Amazon, Google, and other leading technology companies. We’ve spent nearly a decade training the next generation of technical talent, and we just launched a $150M initiative with Anthropic, building one of the most ambitious AI workforce programs in the world.

We’re now expanding into new markets and scaling our team so we can move at the speed AI is transforming the workforce. People joining CodePath now will have the opportunity to help architect the next frontier of our work.

We believe technical skill is the fastest way to turn raw talent into real opportunity. We train the engineers the AI era runs on, building toward millions of learners, hundreds of millions in revenue, and billions in economic impact. If you want to own something and be part of a 0-to-1 journey at an organization moving at the speed of AI, this is the place to build it.

About the Role

Team: People

Reports to: Head of People

Location: Remote (US)

Type: Full-time

Compensation: $150,000 - $175,000

Why This Role, Now

CodePath’s hiring has outgrown the setup that got us here. Our next challenge is reimagining the hiring engine so it reliably turns our growth into great hires: a clear bar at every stage, enough qualified candidates in every pipeline, and a team equipped to move quickly without lowering the standard.

This is a net-new leadership role. You will own the talent acquisition function end to end, lead the team that runs it, and partner directly with our senior leaders on the hires that shape the company. You will report to the Head of People and sit at the center of how CodePath grows.

What You Will Own

This role runs at scale. CodePath is hiring across every function at once, engineering, product, growth, curriculum, delivery, and revenue, alongside seasonal instructor hiring and fellowship surge hiring that arrives fast and cannot miss. You will own two outcomes that have to hold together: time to hire, kept to a predictable and competitive window so we do not lose the people we want, and quality of hire, held to a bar that does not drop when the pressure is on. Everything below serves those two outcomes.

Own the hiring system. You will own the process end to end: the rubrics, the interview stages, the scorecards, the paid work sample every CodePath hire completes, and the gates that decide who advances. You will own the operating cadence that keeps searches on clock and the recruiting stack and metrics that run underneath it, pipeline health, conversion, time to offer, and source performance, and you will use them to decide where to invest. You will make sure every stage produces real signal, so that decisions are trustworthy, and you will keep hardening how we evaluate as AI changes what a strong candidate looks like.

Scale pipeline and throughput. You will drive the volume and quality of candidates across every search, from individual contributors to executive and program-launch surge hiring. The goal is straightforward and measurable: every search reaches a strong slate of finalists, sourced and inbound work together, our pipelines reflect the communities CodePath serves, and no role stalls for lack of qualified candidates.

Own the employer brand and candidate experience. You will own how CodePath shows up to candidates who are also evaluating us. On a mission-driven, nonprofit compensation model, the sell is trajectory, craft, and impact rather than top-of-market cash, and it has to carry through every touchpoint from first outreach to offer. You will make that experience a reason strong people choose CodePath.

Lead and grow the talent team. You will manage a team of recruiters, sourcers, and coordinators across full-time and contract roles. You will set the operating rhythm, coach the team, decide where to add capacity, and build a staffing model that matches the hiring load rather than reacting to it.

Partner with the Head of People and leadership. You will turn company goals into a hiring plan, working with the Head of People and senior leaders on org design, leveling, and where headcount should go against what the organization can absorb. You will set talent priorities across competing searches, keep leadership honest about whether we are on track to build the teams the mission needs, and bring a point of view rather than a status report.

What Success Looks Like in Your First Year

In your first 90 days, you will learn our funnel from application to offer, meet every hiring manager, and diagnose where signal and volume break down today.

By six months, you will have a hiring process where each stage carries a defined purpose and a clear bar, interviewers are trained and accountable for a specific signal, and hiring managers engage on a predictable cadence.

By the end of your first year, open roles consistently reach strong finalist slates, time to hire is under control because the process produces good decisions rather than fast ones, and CodePath has a talent function that scales with the organization instead of straining against it.

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, including several years leading a recruiting team through a period of significant growth.
  • You have built or rebuilt a hiring process, not just run one. You can point to specific changes you made to rubrics, interview design, or gating, and the outcomes they produced.
  • You lead with data. You know your funnel math, you can name your conversion rates by stage, and you use them to decide where to invest.
  • You hold a high bar on quality and can defend it under pressure to move faster. You understand that compressing a process that is not yet producing good signal only leads to worse decisions sooner.
  • You are a strong people manager. You coach recruiters to raise their game, and you build teams that own their work.
  • You partner well with executives and hiring managers. You can push back with respect, hold the line on process, and keep senior stakeholders aligned.
  • You use AI as a genuine multiplier for the mechanical parts of recruiting, and you have a clear view of where human judgment should stay in the loop.

Requirements

  • Experience hiring across technical and non-technical functions at once (engineering, product, growth, operations).
  • Fluency with Greenhouse, Gem, and LinkedIn Recruiter (standard recruiting stack).
  • Experience in a high-growth startup.
  • A track record of building always-on talent pools and an employer brand that draws candidates in.

How We Work

We recruit AI-first. AI clears the busywork so that human judgment on candidates gets more attention, not less. We expect you to adopt and improve these tools, and to have a view on where they help and where they do not belong. We value people who pick up new tools on their own because they want to work better, not because someone told them to.

Why Join

You will take a function that got CodePath this far and reimagine it for a much larger scale, with the mandate and the executive support to do it right. Your work will directly determine the caliber of people who carry CodePath’s mission forward, which means it will determine how many students reach a career in tech that would otherwise be out of reach.

Compensation

CodePath standardizes salaries by level, no matter where you live. Salary within this band is determined by the relevant experience and skills you demonstrate through our interview process.

Full-Time Employee Benefits

This is a 100% remote position, work from anywhere in the U.S. CodePath prioritizes employee well-being with a competitive benefits package to support your health, financial security, and work-life balance.

  • Health & Wellness: Medical, dental, and vision insurance (90% employer-covered for employees and dependents), employer-funded healthcare reimbursement, FSAs, and Employee Assistance Program
  • Financial Security: 401(k), employer-paid life & disability insurance, and identity theft protection
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous PTO, paid holidays, 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave, and an annual year-end company closure (Dec 24 to Jan 2)
  • Professional Growth: $1,000 annual professional development stipend and home office setup support
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: CodePath is a qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), helping employees manage student loan debt
  • Additional Perks: Pet wellness plans, legal services, home/auto insurance discounts, and exclusive marketplace savings

Pay range

$150,000—$175,000 USD

Research Head of Market Research | AI-Native Research (Remote US/EU) at Maze

Founding leader of a new market research service line who defines research vision, methodologies, and service delivery while leveraging AI capabilities to transform research practices.

Lead Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Maze

Maze is the user research platform that helps companies build the right products faster by making user insights available at the speed of product development.

In most companies, research demand far exceeds supply. Time, cost, and lack of access to expertise hold teams back. In today’s AI-powered world, anyone can build a product fast. The real challenge? Deeply understanding user needs and building the right product. That’s where Maze comes in.

We believe companies shouldn’t have to choose between building fast and building right. Maze makes research accessible, intuitive, and fast so product teams can put user insights at the center of every decision.

Our platform enables researchers, designers, and product managers to quickly recruit participants, run studies autonomously, and surface insights that actually drive product decisions. Our AI capabilities automate the busywork and add depth and direction to the insights themselves.

That’s why Maze was recently named the #1 user research platform in UX Tools’ Design Tools Survey—and why we’re scaling fast across industries like B2B SaaS, e-Commerce, Financial Services, Retail, and Automotive, supporting world class customers such as Uber, Amazon, Atlassian, Anthropic & more.

Maze is a Series B company backed by top-tier investors (Felicis, Emergence & Amplify). We operate a global remote workforce driven by our core values.

About the Role

Maze is launching a Market Research service that blends the scale and speed of our platform with expert led research services, creating an AI-native alternative to traditional market research agencies.

As Head of Market Research, you’ll be the founding research leader for this new line of business. Reporting to the COO and partnering closely with the Head of GTM, Research Services, you’ll define what great market research looks like in an AI-first world. You’ll own the research vision, methodologies, service delivery, and quality bar while helping shape the future of research alongside Product, Engineering, and GTM.

This is a rare opportunity to build a modern market research organization from the ground up. We’re looking for someone with deep methodological expertise, a strong point of view on where the industry is headed, and the curiosity to rethink how AI can fundamentally transform the way research is designed, delivered, and consumed.

You’ll thrive here if you’re equal parts practitioner, builder, and innovator—someone who has spent years earning credibility in market research and is now excited to redefine what the next generation of research can become.

What You’ll Do

Research Strategy & Service Design

  • Define the long-term vision for Maze’s Market Research service and establish what best-in-class research looks like in an AI-native world.

  • Design and evolve our research methodologies across qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method studies.

  • Partner closely with the Head of GTM to shape service offerings, ensuring our commercial strategy is grounded in exceptional research quality.

  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI capabilities and incorporate them into how research is conducted, synthesized, and delivered.

Build the Research Function

  • Build and lead the Market Research organization, establishing the operating model, delivery processes, quality standards, and hiring strategy.

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of researchers as the business scales.

  • Create repeatable systems that allow Maze to deliver exceptional research with greater speed, consistency, and efficiency than traditional agencies.

  • Establish quality assurance frameworks while balancing methodological rigor with the agility our customers expect.

Research Delivery & Customer Partnership

  • Serve as the executive research lead on strategic customer engagements, ensuring every project delivers meaningful business outcomes.

  • Guide study design, research approaches, analysis, and executive storytelling for our highest-impact customers.

  • Partner with customers to understand complex business problems and translate them into actionable research strategies.

  • Continuously improve our delivery model based on customer feedback and market evolution.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to influence the roadmap for AI-powered research capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure our research expertise is reflected throughout the customer journey.

  • Help establish Maze as a trusted authority in the market research industry through customer conversations, industry events, publications, and thought leadership.

  • Act as the voice of the researcher internally, ensuring product and commercial decisions remain grounded in customer insight and research excellence.

Who You Are

Experience

  • Significant experience leading market research teams, research consulting practices, or insights organizations.

  • Deep expertise across qualitative and quantitative methodologies, research design, sampling, analysis, and insight generation.

  • Experience building or scaling research organizations, practices, or service offerings.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to advise senior leaders and enterprise customers on research strategy.

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally across commercial, product, and operational teams.

Skills & Strengths

Research visionary

You have a clear perspective on where market research is heading and aren’t satisfied simply improving today’s processes—you want to redefine them.

AI-native thinker

You believe AI fundamentally changes how research should be conducted, synthesized, and delivered. You’re already experimenting with AI in your own work and are excited to help define new methodologies rather than simply automate existing ones.

Builder

You thrive in zero-to-one environments. You’re comfortable creating structure from ambiguity, building teams, and establishing entirely new ways of working.

Methodology expert

You’re respected for your research expertise and know when to challenge conventional approaches. You balance methodological rigor with practical business outcomes.

Executive partner

You communicate complex research clearly, influence senior stakeholders, and build trusted relationships across customers, executives, and cross-functional teams.

Bonus

  • Experience building or modernizing a research organization through AI-enabled workflows.

  • Experience launching a new research practice, consultancy, or service line.

  • Public speaking, publishing, or thought leadership within the market research industry.

  • Experience working across both agency and client-side research organizations.

  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering teams to build research technology.

Inclusivity and Pay

At Maze, we are dedicated to building an equitable, inclusive, and authentic workspace. Unique and diverse perspectives are welcomed, and continuous growth is encouraged. We believe that people are more than their resumes, so if your past experience looks different than the criteria listed, we’d still love to hear from you. We appreciate and celebrate non-traditional life routes and encourage you to apply should you connect with a job description or the Maze culture.

Maze values transparency and it enables us to approach compensation equitably across the world. We are informed by data and regularly check our salary ranges (either United States or Rest of World) against other venture backed companies. Additionally, we are proud of our holistic and generous benefits offerings, included in every compensation package.

Your salary is dependent upon many factors, including years of experience, expertise, etc. During your first interview, you can expect to have an open conversation with your recruiter regarding your compensation expectations.

Why Maze is unique

  • Early-stage startup: You will join an early-stage startup with less than 150 team members. This means you’ll have the unique opportunity to directly impact success and help shape the future of Maze.

  • Market disruption: We believe that the way companies build products is fundamentally broken and the user research market is ripe for disruption. For too long, companies have been forced to choose between rapid development without user insights or investing months into research before bringing products to market. But there’s finally a groundswell building around a path forward that eliminates this compromise - and Maze is leading the charge.

  • Product-market Fit: Maze is used by 100,000+ brands across 4,000 companies, from SMB to enterprises, and in the last fiscal year, we saw 6.5M questions answered, supporting 25K decisions

Benefits

  • Health insurance with international coverage, vision, and dental: 100% of the team member premium paid

    • For some locations, coverage options vary, please see our benefits pages for more information

Project Management Engineering Manager, Maps & Search - US (Remote) at Luxury Presence

Engineering manager leads Maps & Search team, owns hiring/coaching/technical direction, stays hands-on with code while scaling a high-throughput search platform handling 1B+ monthly requests.

Lead Remote Posted 1 day ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Luxury Presence is building the AI growth platform for real estate. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners and other top investors, we’re a Series C company that has hit $100M in annual recurring revenue. More than 90,000 real estate professionals, including over 30% of the WSJ Real Trends top 100 agents in the United States, use us to run and grow their business.

The Opportunity

We don’t just use AI. We build with it, ship with it, and think with it. With a generous budget for tokens, our engineers use AI agents to write, review, and ship production code every day. We are building toward a world where humans design systems and AI builds them, and we are already far along that path.

We are hiring a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead Maps & Search. This team owns the home search experience across web and mobile. It’s one of the most visible, highest-traffic surfaces–the search service alone handles a billion requests every month.

This is a role for a manager who leads from the front: someone who still lives in their terminal with AI, has strong opinions about how AI changes the SDLC, and wants to amplify what a small, senior, AI-augmented team can accomplish. You will set technical direction, stay close to the code, and help the team produce consistent impact.

What You’ll Do

Lead and grow the Maps & Search team. Own hiring, onboarding, coaching, 1:1s, direct feedback, and career development. Treat management as a craft and build a healthy, high-performing team that ships impactful changes.

Stay hands-on. Contribute directly — code and design reviews, architecture, thorny debugging— and stay technical enough to make smart calls on trade-offs.

Own and scale a high-throughput search platform. Drive the architecture, relevance, latency, and reliability of a real estate search system handling ~1B monthly requests and hundreds of millions of listings.

Deliver a world-class home search experience. Own the core home discovery experience across web and mobile — improving engagement, lead conversion, and agent workflows while keeping interactions fast and responsive at scale.

Push forward AI-powered discovery. Partner across teams to bring LLMs and intelligent ranking into search and user workflows, improving how buyers and agents discover, filter, and engage with listings.

Shape the roadmap with product and design. Define what we build and why, not just focusing on the how. Translate user needs and business goals into a clear technical plan, and own delivery end to end — planning, quality, reliability, and incident response.

What We’re Looking For

Attributes

  • You lead from the front. You’re still close to the code and technically respected, and you treat management as a craft — growing engineers, giving clear feedback, and building a team that ships.

  • You already build with AI daily. You use AI as a core part of your workflow, not as a novelty — and you expect your team to as well.

  • You have strong opinions, loosely held, about how AI changes software architecture, team structure, and engineering culture.

  • You think in systems. You connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and business value.

  • You communicate clearly and directly. You can explain complex tradeoffs to product, design, and executive stakeholders.

  • You’re energized by ambiguity and speed. You thrive in a fast-growing company where the roadmap evolves and ownership is real.

  • You like to have fun at work. We take our craft seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We celebrate wins, crack jokes, and genuinely enjoy building together.

Skills and Experience

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with meaningful senior or staff-level time, plus 2+ years managing engineering teams.

  • Search experience — you’ve worked on search, relevance, ranking, or retrieval systems. It doesn’t have to be OpenSearch or Elasticsearch specifically, but you understand how search works and how to make it better.

  • Deep expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, and React, with the full-stack fluency to reason about the whole request path from UI to data.

  • Experience designing and operating scalable microservice architectures in cloud-native environments (AWS preferred).

  • Strong understanding of GraphQL, event-driven systems (Kafka), and databases (PostgreSQL, OpenSearch).

  • A proven track record operating high-traffic, low-latency production systems at scale — SLOs, incident response, and capacity planning are second nature.

  • Experience leading high-impact initiatives from concept through production in a SaaS environment.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: React, Tailwind, Apollo

  • Backend: Node.js / TypeScript microservices

  • Data: PostgreSQL, OpenSearch

  • Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Lambda

  • Messaging: Kafka, Redis

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
