Role Summary

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our R&D Finance team and help explain what it costs to build, deliver and scale Cloudflare’s products. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure Finance and Pricing to turn technical resource usage and infrastructure investment into clear product unit economics and actionable financial insights.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who enjoys moving between financial models, operational data and cross-functional problem solving. You will help improve the data and processes behind our analysis, using automation and AI thoughtfully to make recurring work more reliable and scalable. As the work evolves, there is an opportunity to deepen your ownership of Developer and self-serve product economics.

Role Responsibilities

• Build and maintain product cost models that translate compute, storage, bandwidth and AI / inference resource consumption into unit cost-to-serve, with transparent assumptions and documented methodologies.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to evaluate new product introductions, architecture changes and shifts in resource usage; quantify cost and margin implications across connected workloads.
• Develop and validate shared-cost allocation analyses with Infrastructure Finance and finance data partners, using relevant consumption and capacity drivers. Distinguish direct costs, shared costs and unused capacity, and reconcile product views to underlying financial totals.
• Support Pricing with reliable cost inputs and scenario analysis for commercial decisions and quoting workflows. Translate changes in hardware generations, bandwidth rates and product architecture into updated assumptions.
• Connect capital investment to product economics by analyzing server costs, deployment timing, useful-life and depreciation assumptions, utilization and capacity across edge, core and accelerated-computing infrastructure, in partnership with Infrastructure Finance and Accounting.
• Contribute to capital and capacity planning through demand-versus-capacity scenarios, investment trade-offs and forecast updates. Explain how deployment timing and workload mix affect near-term costs and longer-term unit economics.
• Produce decision-ready reporting on product costs, unit economics and relevant margin drivers. Explain actual-versus-plan changes and separate volume, mix, rate, utilization and allocation effects.
• Improve finance data and repeatable workflows with finance programs, data and engineering partners. Help validate operational inputs, establish reconciliation checks, and automate recurring analyses to support more frequent forecasting and a faster, more reliable close.
• Translate analysis into recommendations that technical and non-technical partners can act on, balancing detail, financial judgment and the needs of a growing product portfolio.

Role Requirements

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ Years experience in FP&A, strategic finance, cost analysis, business analytics or a related analytical field, with evidence of building financial models and translating data into business recommendations.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including the ability to build flexible, driver-based models and test assumptions through sensitivity and scenario analysis.
• Ability to work with large or imperfect datasets, investigate discrepancies, reconcile financial and operational views, and document assumptions and controls.
• Understanding of financial statements, cost drivers, gross margin and unit economics, with familiarity with capital expenditures and depreciation.
• Ability to learn technical business models and connect resource usage, infrastructure capacity and product architecture to financial outcomes.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and clear written and verbal communication; comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions constructively and explaining analysis to different audiences.
• Evidence of ongoing AI skill development, including prompt and context engineering; ability to evaluate emerging tools and apply them to practical finance problems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, usage-based businesses, product costing or shared-cost allocations.
• Hands-on SQL skills and experience with business intelligence tools; Python or another analytical scripting language for repeatable analysis.
• Familiarity with infrastructure and/or data-center operations and the financial drivers of capacity expansion, such as hardware, power, cooling and deployment lead times; exposure to construction or build-out economics is a plus.
• Exposure to server or network capital planning, hardware lifecycle economics, utilization analysis or fixed-asset reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools into finance or analytical workflows—such as data preparation, reconciliation, cost-model updates or variance analysis—with measurable improvements in cycle time, accuracy or review quality.
• Experience applying responsible AI practices to financial analysis, including assessing data-privacy and decision risks, checking for bias or misleading assumptions, validating outputs against source data, and maintaining human review and an auditable record.
• Experience improving financial systems, allocation processes, data pipelines or forecasting workflows in a matrixed organization.
• Familiarity with planning and enterprise systems such as Anaplan, Oracle or Workday.

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

• For San Francisco Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $126,000 - $174,000.

• For Seattle, WA based hires: Estimated annual salary of $121,000 - $166,000.

• For Colorado based hires: Estimated annual salary of $110,000 - $151,000.

The War Room protects Veterans and taxpayer dollars through data analytics, fraud risk assessment and fast administrative action, in line with Executive Orders 14395 and 14243. The Data Analyst (Healthcare Fraud) is Essential Personnel on the fraud, waste and abuse (FWA) analytics team. Working under the Analytics and Technology Program Director and the Senior Data Analyst, this person uses VA’s Palantir analytics and workflow platform to analyze VHA claims, enrollment and exclusion data. The analyst builds and tests business rules that detect potential fraud and overpayments, and surfaces anomalies and prioritized leads for OIC review. This includes supporting the Provider 360 view of community care providers, anomaly detection and network analysis to find coordinated billing schemes. The role is advisory and analytical. All final decisions stay with Government personnel.

• FWA Rule & Algorithm Development:

  • Write, test and document business rules and algorithm logic mapped to FWA schemes.

  • Support configuration, code development and deployment on VA’s Palantir platform, including data pipelines and system integration.

• Provider 360 & Anomaly Detection:

Job Description

The Business Solutions Analyst, Enterprise Platforms — a role often titled Business Systems Analyst — is a hands-on, ownership-driven position that both defines how NYPCC’s business and clinical systems should work and builds it. This individual partners with departments across the organization to understand their needs (the analysis) and then configures, administers, and continuously optimizes our platforms to meet them (the build). The immediate priority is to become NYPCC’s in-house expert on our new cloud-based EHR, Arize by Cantata Health, as we migrate from our legacy system, ensuring the platform is configured to support person-centered care, efficient clinical and administrative workflows, and full regulatory compliance. Prior Arize experience is not expected; you will learn the platform alongside the vendor’s implementation team, and what matters is a proven record of hands-on configuration on a comparable system.

Over time, the role expands to take ownership of additional configurable platforms — such as Salesforce and our Learning Management System — maximizing the value of the technology NYPCC has invested in.

Success in this role is defined by ownership: proactively partnering across the agency, spotting opportunities others miss, and shaping the roadmap for our platforms rather than simply responding to requests.

Responsibilties:

EHR Configuration & Optimization (Primary Focus)

• Serve as NYPCC’s in-house subject-matter expert on the new cloud EHR, owning its day-to-day configuration and administration.
• During the migration, embed with the implementation team, shadow the vendor’s build, and be fully prepared to own the platform independently at go-live.
• Configure and continuously optimize EHR workflows, screen layouts, forms, custom fields, business rules, security roles, and reports in a controlled, compliance-safe manner.
• Diagnose and resolve configuration issues, and proactively identify enhancements that improve clinician and staff efficiency and the client experience.

Business Analysis & Solution Design

• Proactively partner with clinical, billing, quality/compliance, HR, and operations teams to understand their workflows, challenges, and goals.
• Translate business and clinical needs into clear requirements and working system configuration.
• Build, own, and prioritize a transparent roadmap and backlog of platform improvements — identifying opportunities on your own initiative, not simply fulfilling assigned requests.
• Map current-state processes and design improved future-state workflows enabled by the platform.

Enterprise Platform Administration & Growth

• As capacity allows beyond the EHR, take on declarative administration of Salesforce, partnering with NYPCC’s external Salesforce consultant for code-level development.
• Support the HR team in fully leveraging and optimizing the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Identify and scope automation opportunities and partner with NYPCC’s RPA developer to implement them.
• Take on additional business and clinical platforms over time as the organization centralizes system ownership.

Release, Change & Configuration Management

• Establish and follow right-sized change-control practices: sandbox-to-production promotion, testing, documentation, and version tracking.
• Ensure thorough testing so configuration changes never disrupt live clinical or billing workflows.
• Maintain clear, current documentation of configurations, decisions, and standards.

Security, Compliance & Data Integrity

• Design and maintain role-based access and security aligned with HIPAA, HITECH, 42 CFR Part 2, OMH, DOH, and Medicaid requirements.
• Support audits, data-integrity initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
• Partner with the organization’s Managed Service Provider (MSP) to uphold NYPCC’s privacy, security, and data-stewardship standards.

User Enablement & Support

• Provide Tier-2 configuration support to end users and grow a network of departmental super-users.
• Train clinical and administrative staff to use platforms effectively and confidently.
• Build and maintain reports and dashboards that give leadership visibility into operations.

Vendor Collaboration

• Serve as the day-to-day liaison to the EHR vendor and manage the deliverables of platform consultants (Salesforce, RPA).
• Escalate and track vendor issues to resolution.

Value & Continuous Improvement

• Track and report the value delivered — adoption, hours saved, and reduced outsourced configuration spend.
• Continuously look for ways to help NYPCC get more out of the platforms it already owns.

Miscellaneous

• Other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years configuring and administering at least one declarative, low-code SaaS platform in production (e.g., an EHR/EMR, Salesforce, Workday, or NetSuite) — hands-on build experience is essential to this role.
• Demonstrated business analysis skills: requirements gathering, process mapping, and translating business needs into working system configuration.
• A demonstrated record of ownership and initiative — identifying improvements no one assigned and driving them to completion.
• A learning mindset and the drive to grow into broader platform ownership over time.
• Strong change-management discipline and sound instincts for system security and role-based access.
• Proficiency building reports and dashboards.
• Comfort with ambiguity and self-direction, with excellent skills partnering with non-technical staff.
• Hands-on EHR/EMR configuration experience on any platform (e.g., Netsmart, Qualifacts, Epic, or Cerner) strongly preferred.

About the role

Muon Space is building a family of infrared imaging missions designed for global wildfire detection and monitoring, weather and cloud characterization, and space-based environmental monitoring. Muon’s IR Data Products team builds the analytics system that processes the data from our spacecraft’s custom multispectral imaging instruments into data products and analytics for diverse end-user stakeholders from these missions. We are seeking a Geospatial Data Scientist to join this team with a focus on building derived data products from Muon’s FireSat and Space-Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) missions.

This role will be a hands-on contributor to the development of derived data products from Muon’s IR data missions. You will dive deep into real-world data from brand new imaging systems, prototype and productionize algorithms that turn Level-1 imagery into higher-level derived products, and write production-ready code that feeds directly into customer-facing services. Working alongside senior scientists and product owners on the IR Data Products team, you will build expertise across both missions while contributing to product design, validation, and documentation. This is a high-impact, multi-mission role that sits at the intersection of rigorous Earth observation science and fast-moving product development, and is well-suited for someone who thrives on hands-on technical work and cross-functional collaboration.

This position is hybrid and requires working on-site in our Denver, CO office three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Build derived data products from Muon’s infrared imaging missions, spanning Muon’s IR programs
• Implement and improve scalable algorithms for processing, transforming, and analyzing multispectral infrared imagery into derived geospatial products.
• Contribute to derived product design and roadmap under the direction of senior scientists and product owners on the IR Data team.
• Contribute to technical and customer-facing design documents for derived products, supporting alignment between internal capabilities and external stakeholder requirements.
• Support engagement with customer technical stakeholders including Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), customer questions, and program meetings
• Write production-ready code that integrates into customer-facing data product pipelines and operational services.
• Contribute to the scientific quality, quantitative validation, and integrity of derived products across Muon’s IR missions.
• Work cross-functionally with software engineers, calibration scientists, and instrument engineers to design, build, and maintain operational data product services.

Qualifications

• Degree & Experience: PhD; or MS with 3+ years industry experience; or BS with 5+ years industry experience
• Geospatial Processing: Hands-on experience building geospatial data products, particularly from new or novel imaging instruments.
• Scientific Rigor: Demonstrated experience applying first principles to solve complex problems.
• Sensor Data: Experience working with real-world data from new or novel imaging instruments
• Software Development: Strong skills in Python-based development and analysis
• Geospatial Technical Stack: Strong Python development skills utilizing standard geospatial formats and libraries (e.g., COGs, Xarray, GDAL).
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of collaborating across distributed, interdisciplinary teams (scientists, engineers, product).

• Mission & Operational Lifecycle: Experience supporting satellite mission product development, commissioning, early operations, or delivering operational pipelines to external customers.
• ML/AI: Demonstrated experience applying ML/DL and advanced image processing to remote sensing data
• Cloud Architecture: Familiarity with cloud-native geospatial workflows and large-scale data processing (AWS preferred).

Salary

The salary range for this role is $171,000 - $191,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
