On Friday, March 1, our club held the second annual Getting Crafty with Nature workshop at Buttonwood Village Clubhouse.Twenty-five participants attended. First, as participants arrived, Bonnie Moore, Peggy Stansfield and Mary Yeomans helped each participant make a grapevine wreath. Next, Mary Yeomans presented information about the workshop followed by our first of 5 sessions. Cindy Dorety and Betty Mosketti worked with pinecone gnomes. Dorrit Tompkins and Malinda Gordy demonstrated making dragonflies with cardboard plant. Marilyn Pachota and Judy Oswald demonstrated cardboard plant and pinecone flowers. Vinita Jones and Julie O’Brien showed Areca palm weaving. Nancy Silvers and Dotty Williams worked on Palm frond containers. Cindy and Betty made coffee and tea for all, and members made a nice assortment of baked goods to sample.

The Punta Gorda Garden Club is hosting a workshop, “Getting Crafty with Nature” on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 10 AM to 3 PM. It will be held at Buttonwood Village Community Room. The cost is $40 per participant and registration is required.
The Garden Club is known for its Holly Days Home Tour each December, where decorations are made principally using natural materials from members’ yards. At the workshop, Garden Club members will lead participants in making 5 different creations to take home with them.
