Job Description

State & Federal Grants Analyst is responsible for maximizing funding opportunities for KIPP Texas through Federal and State formula funds and other grants. They work with Accounting, FP&A, Special Education, Academics, PEIMS, Operations, IT, and the Superintendent to manage funds received and to help determine whatexpenditures can be paid by each funding stream. State & Federal Grants Analyst also works directly with KIPP Texas School Leaders on other grants such as Instructional Materials Allotment and Charter Start-up Funds. They will also be responsible for auditing federal grants to ensure timesheets, high qualified status and all required elements of the Federal Grants are appropriately complete. State & Federal Grants Analyst position furthers the mission of KIPP Texas because they help to promote the proper utilization and documentation of the spend of Federal & State Grants. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the federal fund ledger and perform monthly close procedures.

  • Monitor and review all Federal and State grant expenditures to ensure expenses are allowable, appropriate, and fully compliant with grant requirements.

  • Prepare and submit federal and state financial compliance reports on time, maintaining all necessary documentation according to the KTX Finance compliance calendar.

  • Research eligible State and Federal grants for KIPP Texas, gather all required supporting documentation, and ensure the timely submission of applications.

  • Track Highly Qualified (HQ) statuses of KIPP Texas teachers for ESSA and IDEA- B Grant

  • Assist with federal and state fund budgeting and spend-down

  • Perform monthly federal and state grant draw-down

  • Track and maintain inventory of federally funded tech equipment, furniture and fixtures

  • Assist with annual financial and Single Audit

  • Participate in TEA desk audits/monitoring

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • 0-2 years of experience in audit, accounting, or grants compliance preferred

COMPETENCY AND SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Excel including macros, VBA, and pivot tables

  • Exceptional analytic, strategic, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong planning, organization, and project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage a variety of tasks.

  • Results-oriented, hands-on team player who is dedicated to getting the job done

Work Environment:

Hybrid work - Reports to the central office or schools three days a week

Travel Requirements:

Minimal travel: May travel to other school sites or regional offices for professional learning, meetings and other work related activities.
