Section A: Container Grown Foliage Plants (container not to exceed 12 inches)

    Class 1. Araceae (e.g. Anthurium, Dieffenbachia, Spathiphyllum, Scindapsus, Syngonium, Alocasia, Philodendron, Any other)

    Class 2. Succulents (e.g. Kalanchoe, Aloe Vera, Haworthia, Hoya, Sansevieria "Snake Plant", Any other))

    Class 3. Cacti (e.g. Cereus, "Old Man", "Fox Tail", "Bishop’s Cap", Ripsalis, Christmas Cactus, Any other)

    Class 4. Ferns (e.g. Asplenium nidus “Bird’s Nest”, Cyrtonium falc. “Holly fern”, Nephrolepsis ex. bostoniensis
compacta “Dwarf Boston fern”, Polypodium aureum glacum “Hare’s Foot fern”, Pteris
ensiform “Silver table fern”, Platycerium bifurcatum “Staghorn fern”)

    Class 5. Any other meritorious entries. Sub-class may include multiple plantings.

Section B: Container Grown Flowering Plants (container not to exceed 12 inches)

    Class 6. Saintpaulia (Gesneriaceae) (e.g. African Violet)

    Class 7. Begonia (Begoniaceae) (e.g. fibrous, rhizomatous, tuberous)

    Class 8. Exotics (e.g. Orchid (Orchidaceae), Heliconia (Musaceae), Ixora, Jacobinia, Acalypha "Chenille plant", Hibiscus, Aphelandra squarrosa
    "Zebra plant")

    Class 9. Any other meritorious entries. Sub-class may include multiple plantings.

Section C: Bromeliads

    Class 10. Aechmea (e.g. fasciata "Silver vase")

    Class 11. Neoregelia

    Class 12. Cryptanthus ("Earthstars")

    Class 13. Tillandsia (e.g. bulbosa)

    Class 14. Any other meritorious entries.

Section D: Cut Flowers

    Class 15. Annual (1 stem)

    Class 16. Perennial (1 stem)

    Class 17. Flowering vines (1 stem. 12-18 inches)

    Class 18. Rosaceae (1 stem)

    Class 19. Exotics (1 scape (stem), limit 12 inches

Section E: Cut Branches – Trees and Shrubs

    Class 20. Flowering branch, 18-30 inches

    Class 21. Foliage branch, 18-30 inches

    Class 22. Fruited branch, 18-30 inches

Section F: Harvest Section

    Class 23. Fruits (one variety)

    Class 24. Vegetables (one variety)

Design

Class 1: Florida All fresh plant material; accessories permitted; Minimum 4 entries

Class 2: New York Designer’s choice of materials, accessories permitted; Minimum 4 entries

Class 3: Arizona Designer’s choice of materials, accessories permitted; Minimum 4 entries

Class 4: Vermont Designer’s choice of materials, accessories permitted; Minimum 4 entries

All classes Eligible for Best of Show

General Rules for all Divisions

1.  This is a Small Standard Flower Show staged according to the rules of National Garden Clubs, Inc. using | as its authority The Handbook for
    Flower Shows, 2003 Edition
and any changes published in The National Gardener.

2.  Entries will be received Thursday March 29, 2007 between 7:30am and 9:30am.  Only Committee members and Exhibitors are allowed in the Show area at entry time. 
    Exhibitors must leave the Show area promptly at 9:30am.

3. Judging will begin at 10:00|am.  Only required personnel will be permitted in the Show area during the judging.  The decision of the judges is final.
    Awards are given only if merited.

4.  All exhibits must be removed between the hours of 5:15pm and 6:00pm on the day of the Show.

5.  The Flower Show will be open to the public on March 29th from 12 noon to 5:00pm. 

6.  The Committee will endeavor to protect all exhibits, but cannot be responsible for loss or damage to the Exhibitor's property. 

7. The Schedule is the law of the Show.

Horticulture Division Rules

1.   All specimens must be FRESH plant material, grown by the Exhibitor, be Show quality and be free of diseases and pests.

2.   Cut specimens should not have any foliage below the water line.

3.    All horticulture specimens must be labeled with the correct botanical name (genus, species and variety/cultivar).  If not sure, the Classifications
    Chairman will have the information for you. 

4.   All entries must be approved by the Classification Chairman before placement by the Committee.

5.   Exhibitors may make more than one entry per class or sub-class, if each is a different genus, species, variety/cultivar, type, size or color. 

6.   The Committee may delete or subdivide any class.

7.   The entrants should bring their cut specimen in a clear colorless glass bottle suitable to the size of the specimen.

8.   Wedging material is allowed, if needed.

9.   Container grown plants must have been in the possession of Exhibitor for at least 90 days.

10.   Horticulture entries will be judged by the appropriate scale of points found in The Handbook for Flower Shows, 2003 Edition

Design Division Rules

All designs staged on a natural wood pedestal 36" high with a 24" square top. 

1.  Designs must be created by only one exhibitor and may be completed at home or in the Show area.

2. The following are not permitted:  artificial plant material, cut fruits or vegetables, the treating of fresh plant material

3.  Some plant material must be used in every exhibit.  "Menu" food is not permitted.

4.  Wild collected plants of species listed as "endangered" may not be used.  Cultivated plant material appearing on the list may be exhibited, if
    the exhibitor provides a typed card noting that it has not been collected in the wild.

5.  The Committee will provide all staging.

6.  The exhibitor must find a substitute if unable to fill this commitment.

7.  Design entries will be judged by the appropriate scale of points found in The Handbook for Flower Shows, 2003 Edition.  

8.  Accessories are permitted in Classes 1, 2 and 3.
